What's Happening in our City?

I'm listing a few articles and news stories here that are of interest to the District 9 and the entire City.  I want you to see the gravity of what we are dealing with as a community and what we need to work on.  I also want you to know that if we work together we can make the necessary changes to get the Duke City back on track. I'm here because I love it here!  I'll bet you agree...

Thieves Steal U-Haul With Casket Containing Human Remains

JUST WHEN WE THINK WE'VE HEARD AND SEEN IT ALL......

When thieves steal a U-Haul trailer from a hotel parking lot, they’re probably thinking tools, electronics, or jewelry. When they saw what was inside a trailer stolen on Monday morning, they quickly ditched it.

The U-Haul was taken right out of the parking at the Residence Inn near Gibson and Yale. It was then found just down the street, the precious cargo still inside.

Albuquerque Rapid Transit Project Study Questioned

WAS THERE A STUDY CONDUCTED BY THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE TO JUSTIFY THE ALBUQUERQUE RAPID TRANSIT PROJECT?

The Albuquerque Rapid Transit project may be nearing completion, but it’s been controversial from the start. There are still plenty of questions surrounding it and its benefits, including whether city officials tried to gain support by citing a study that never actually took place.

APD Brass Visit New Orleans to Learn About Reducing Crime in the Duke City

NEW ORLEANS, THE CRESCENT CITY, TALKS REDUCING CRIME WITH BRASS FROM THE ALBUQUERQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT

KOB wasn’t the only entity from Albuquerque to visit New Orleans about the DOJ. During our time with Harrison, we learned some APD officials were recently there to learn about DOJ reform.

City of Albuquerque Director of Communications Rhiannon Samuel confirmed APD Assistant Chief Robert Hunstman, Deputy Chief Eric Garcia, Majors Jessica Tyler and Joe Christman, and Lieutenant Greg Weber spent three days with the NOPD to look specifically at the department’s use of force review boards.

There’s a reason we at KOB 4 chose to visit New Orleans on our own. You see, their police department is now heading in the right direction.....

I'm a radio guy and my brother always teases me that I have a "face for radio."  You'll notice that all of my answers include the constituent voice in coming up with solutions.  There is no way for me to have all the answers--I need your input!
